There is absolutely no way that you can deny his lyrical prowess. His mixtapes Imo are better than his albums. His metaphors and wordplays are ridiculously complex, I Highly suggest you listen to him and look into the lyrics and what they mean. Both his albums Food&Liquor, and The Cool, if listened to in a particular order tell one big story. I haven't listened deeply enough into Big L or kool G rap to know what they rap about, but Lupe's content is some of the deepest that I've ever heard Child soldiers, the emotional distress that rape causes, the intellectual degradation of mainstream music, blood diamonds and the warfare they cause, racism and terrorism, etc. It isn't something you hear and then you get it. Unless you've gone in and really analyzed his lyrics, you're going to miss most of them. Tl dr: I gush over DOOM like a fanboy or something for a while, as though I don't like any other rappers, even though I do. About the only innovation from the usual piano and song numbers of vaudeville, is that the piano is only an abridged edition in size and Crosby spices the jazz. The guy's a crazy poet, and in my opinion the best rapper still kickin'. So V can bite your titties like a baby toddler Ho." The guy can literally rhyme about whatever he wants to and work it into what he's saying overall. But oneuri jinamyeon jugeul deusi play, hey Do it do it do it. I'm outta here as soon as I fix the flux capacitor." Oh yeah, well just you stay away from her with those lyrics. Or in A Dead Mouse, off of Vaudeville Villain, Might wanna lay off the sauce before the caper." Rice and beans at least, but that costs paper, Shall not live by bread alone, he need meat, On the roll, brotha gotta eat, whole weat, Hold microphone like hold heat on an old beat,

In my opinion, one of the best thirty seconds of hip-hop is DOOM spitting his piece in Just to Make a Buck off of Dwight Spitz by Count Bass D. A lot of people listen to a few songs off of Madvilliany or The Mouse and the Mask and think they known DOOM, but you've got to dip into albums like Vaudeville Villain and MM Food to really get an idea of what he's about. He's extremely prolific, with over ten ablums where he's the primary rapper, under all different names. It's all about the whole package-the flow, the rhymes, the metaphors, the strange references-it's what hip-hop is all about.
